Less Noise, Better Answers: How Context Engineering Works

Nitrowise

Even a well-written prompt won't help much if the AI isn't working with the right information. In longer tasks, it's not just about how we formulate our requests, but also what information the model receives, what it retains, and what we leave out. This is what context engineering is about.

Decision model vs. LLM: what we measured with Jev

Nitrowise

When an AI system only has to decide, say which team a ticket goes to, whether it is urgent, whether a step is dangerous, it does not always need a large language model (LLM) that writes text. We tried TypeSafe AI's decision model called Jev and measured it against two fast LLMs on the same tasks. Jev was 2–10× faster and several times cheaper at a similar accuracy, but it writes no text and gives no reasons. A summary of Benedek Nagy's talk.
